Snow Bud (Xue Ya)

|
Tightly wound leaves characterize this Fujian Province, high-mountain varietal. Named for the occasional white snow-colored patches that spot the leaf, this tea is harvested early to capture a nuanced and sweet taste. Offers floral notes through its light-yellow liquor and it will linger in its aftertaste. Grown at a high elevation, when steeped long, it offers some astringency.
Tea Notes
This tea eventually, with warming days, arrives in the market. Grown high on the mountain, it is slow to emerge from bud to leaf.
