Iron Goddess (Tieguanyin)
|
|
"Iron Goddess" is our traditional-style Chinese oolong. It is light-to-medium oxidized showing some brown coloration on the leaves. This medium-oxidized oolong was the preferred style in China's domestic tea market before the advent of low-oxidized, greener side oolong. This higher oxidized leaf process yields a full-bodied, sweet oolong with some nuttiness. The leaf is uniformly large, then rolled with stems intact. As the leaves unfurl slowly, the first steep is known for its aroma; subsequent steeps will provide increased taste.
Tea Notes
Serve large-leaf Tieguanyin Gong fu style - controls and enhances the step-by-step release of vital aromas and taste.
Traditional style Tieguanyin has what the Chinese call "gan", a sweetness or lack of astringency.
