A high-grade Mao Feng leaf has been rolled into a shiny small pearl and oxidized to a deep brown color. The result is an unusual and rare Fujian Province black tea that is softly aromatic, offering a touch of smokiness and a light, naturally sweet finish. Cup color is a rich red and clean. Our lot is very well made, the craftsmanship is apparent. This style of black tea was once quite common but in recent years has become rare as the processing of the leaf is quite difficult.
Sweet and thirst-quenching, our Yunnan Black is husky in aroma and fruity-spicy in taste. Traditional in style, this lot is made with large, thick dayeh leaves with an ample amount of distinctive golden buds to yield an excellent morning or afternoon beverage. Definitely on the tippy side, this encourages plenty of sweetness from a cup that will show a brilliant red color. Nuanced and full bodied, exceptionally creamy and smooth, this is a tea to enjoy every day. This tea can take milk and sugar. Note, it also makes a very refreshing iced tea.
Our organic Yunnan "Hong Cha" (like our traditional style) has a husky aroma and the taste is full bodied. The leaves are from a characteristically thick Yunnan varietal that we favor, speckled with golden buds giving the cup sweet, creamy and malty notes. This tea will cup to a rusty red color, offering a thirst-quenching sweetness at the finish. Excellent breakfast or afternoon beverage. It can take milk and sugar.
Our lot is made of curled thick golden leaves that cup to a distinctive, reddish liquor with a wonderful spicy and creamy-sweet flavor. This black or "red" tea is made from an indigenous varietal, Dayeh, a large-leaf tea tree found to Yunnan Province. The leaves are strikingly golden-brown in color, the cup is spicy and sweet and thirst quenching. This is a refreshing, full-flavored tea that is good most anytime. This tea can take milk.
