Tea Provinces of China
Anhui Province

Anhui Province is certainly one of the most important tea regions of China. Located in Eastern China, north of Fujian and Zhejiang Provinces, it is formed by the great basin of the Yangtze and Huaihe Rivers. The jagged granite of the Huang Shan Mountains rules the southern region of the province. The mountains are alive with cold clear springs that crash down the steep slopes creating a mist known as “sea of clouds”. This unique micro-environment is home to world-renowned Yellow teas.
Anhui is well-known for a rare and wonderful green tea, Tai Ping Hou Kui. The world enjoys Anhui’s rich and smokey Keemun black teas (Keemun Mao Feng, Hao Ya). Artisans in the province are widely recognized for the craft of hand sewing fresh tea leaves into exotic floral designs called display teas that celebrate the cultural, gastronomic and social value of tea
