Zhejiang Province
Zhejiang means “crooked river” and was the old name of the Qiantang River which passes through the provincial capital city of Hangzhou. There is a popular saying, “Above there is heaven, below there is Hangzhou”. Zhejiang has a humid subtropical climate, offering an ideal environment for tea and thus not surprisingly leads the provinces of China in tea production. It is renowned for the very famous green tea, Dragon Well (Long Jing). The province is defined by inland hills and thousands of islands along its ragged coastline.
We buy our green Buddhist Tea from a farm on an island off the coast. We also source competition grade teas such as Dragon Well, high grade Mao Feng and Snow Dragon in the Province.

Buddhist Tea (Fo Cha)
Beautiful small leaves brew to a sweet and grassy flavor. A good everyday green tea produced on an island in Zhejiang Province. The farm has been organic for 6 years and the quality of this tea reflects this effort. Steep for 1 – 2 minutes at water temperature of 175 – 185 degrees.

Dragon Well (Long Jing) Competition Grade
Golden green leaves rich with the scent of early spring pollen offer the tea drinker a real treat. Our competition grade is made with a broad, jade green leaf and will cup to a sweet yet nutty liquor that lingers in the mouth. We think it best steeped briefly to keep a clear taste. Steep 1 – 1 1/2 minutes at 165–185 degrees.

Dragon Well (Lung Ching)
NEW HARVEST - SPECIAL PRICING. Grown on an island off the coast of Zhejiang Province, this hand-crafted tea is an excellent choice as an everyday green tea. Fresh green leaves brew to a nutty and vegetal flavor with a sweet aftertaste. Cups to a green-gold liquor. Brew for 2 minutes in water temperature of 175 – 185 degrees.

Snow Dragon (Xue Long)
NEW HARVEST - SPECIAL PRICE - This rare green tea offers a round, nutty–sweet flavor. Worked by hand in a wok to create broad flat leaves with white edging, the taste we found in the market at harvest is preserved in this lot. Grown in a remote area of Fujian Province, this tea offers a full cup taste. Steep for 2 minutes in water temperature of 175–185 degrees.
