Our Spring Tea Collection - 9 Select Pre-Qing Ming Lots.
China' early-spring white and green teas are famous for their elegant appearance and fresh flavors. In provinces defined by steep mountains and high-elevation tea farms, tea lovers eagerly await the arrival of new spring teas. These "before the rain" teas are picked in late March into early April just before the Qing Ming festival (April 5th). Found locally and known as "fresh teas", certain teas can be quite unusual as they are often processed to local custom.
We traveled to China in late March and purchased new white, green and black teas. As the weather warmed under a full sun, the leaves grew quickly. At this local level of production, each year's harvest is slightly different. While the appearance and taste profile generally holds, nature and the farmer bring new definitions to the cup each harvest.
We now have a limited supply of these fresh, new teas. Aromas are sweet and clean; tastes are rich, sweet and lingering.

Green Snail Spring "Bi Luo Chun"- a true symbol of the special quality of spring teas. Our lot is available in this bud style for only a brief period. Taste is sweet spring. SOLD OUT. Please note: We will have more by the end of June.
Silver Needle "Yinzhen"- a tea every tea drinker should try. A rare & savory, clean and sweetly satisfying.
White Peony "Bai Mu Dan"- early-pluck leaves, colors of light green, brown and plentiful silver buds - taste of sweet melon.
Drum Mountain Clouds & Mist "Mei Lan Chun" - a rare tea offering! Made from the delicious MeiZhan varietal, wonderfully sweet and very aromatic. A deep, rich tea that lingers on the palate, a true treat of spring!
Dragon Well "Lung Ching"- we searched high and low for this lot. A local Zhejiang Province varietal offers a distinct aroma and taste, nutty & vegetal sweet.
Spring Blossom Pekoe "Xiao Cai Cha"- unusual, local fresh tea, large green leaves and white buds fired to perfection offer a toasty sweet, clean vegetal cup.
Snow Bud "Xue Ya"- high-mountain offering, cups naturally sweet and clean, just a hint of astringency gives it extra body and nuance.
Green Silver Needle "Shenya Yinzhen"- plucked for just a few days, this elegant tea is green savory, sweet and clean. A fine cup!
Golden Monkey "Jin Hou" - for black tea lovers, an elegant, nuanced high-grade Monkey. Malty tastes, an excellent lot! SOLD OUT. Please note: We will have more by the end of June
