Famous, Fragrance and Earthy.
The teas we are offering were grown in either clouds-and-mist-covered jagged mountains, in hot and steamy tropical forests or coastal mountaintops where gardens receive cooling breezes and soft morning sun. The wonderful Green Monkey King is from Anhui province and is truly a prize to be appreciated for appearance and taste. Our Oolong offering – Ben Shan – is exotic, aromatic, flavorful, and delicious. Our Pu-erh is a lush, full-flavored tea, a mix of green leaves and silver buds pressed into a cake.
Great Green Monkey King (Tai Ping Hou Kui)
Great Green Monkey King, Tai Ping Hou Kui, is one of the Ten Famous Teas of Chinese lore. Grown on a farm high in the mountains, wild orchids surround the farm and at night infuse the delicate tea leaves with their scent. Leaf is stunning – broad and bright green. Taste is incomparable – rich and vegetal. Its lingering sweet finish will underscore why this is a "famous tea".
Ben Shan is a delicious Oolong made from a Tieguanyin cultivar grown in the AnXi Region. It is fired at a lower temperature resulting in greenish-gold-color leaf that offers a fresh, herbaceous style and a clear, fragrant aroma and mild flavor that will remind one of orchids. Wonderful as an afternoon sipping tea and to be enjoyed with sweets!
Silver Needle Been Cha (Yin Zhen Bian Cha)
It is said that a Pu-erh tastes "of the earth". This young green or "raw" Pu-erh offers an earthy as well as a surprisingly smooth sweet and lasting taste. Large silver buds are loosely pressed in wide green leaves. Result is a complexity of taste and sweetness that makes this an unusual tea and ready to enjoy today. Yet, hints of malt suggest this tea will age well. Pu-erh is thought to be extremely good for digestion and cholesterol reduction.
