Once we committed to putting our teas into sachets, we felt we should offer a product that truly brought the natural and wonderful flavors & aomas of tea and herbs to the cup. That we continue to source grades of teas for which we have become known and believe the consumer market is interested in tasting. Teas, flowers and herbs offering unadulterated flavors crafted by true artisans of the leaf. We offer higher grades of leaf for our sachets. The leaves are then minimally milled leaving to retain their flavor & aroma. Steeped you will taste a difference from other single-serve teas.
Our tea box line and sachets are 100% USDA Organic Certified. Our sachets are made using a Non-GMO cornstarch that is spun and woven and is biodegradable.
The packing and label sealing of our line of tea boxes provides jobs to people with disabilities in our community.
To do this, we source the highest grades of organic white, green, Oolong, black and Pu-erh varietals. We source teas and herbals we knew people would enjoy in their homes and places of work. Once in hand, we mill the leaves minimally, leaving the leaf as much intact and as large as we can while placing it into a sachet. The difference in your cup or tea pot is twofold and we believe significant as to why our sachet is award-winning and has proven so satisfying to our customers.
One, the larger leaf stays fresher due to its size. A larger size leaf slows the process of oxidization and depletion of the leaf's aroma and flavors. Two, the flavors of the varietal are stronger and they release more slowly as you steep. This will result in multiple steeps from our sachet.
Our new sachets offer high-grade, select tea varietals and herbals with aromas and flavors that are distinct and rich. Organically grown, high-grade varietals (for example, our Dragon Well is 2nd grade, it is very unusual to find this high a grade of tea in a sachet). The leaves are comparatively larger bringing a richer, deeper flavor to the cup. These elegant sachets (pyramidal shape made using a plant-based fiber, compostable) are perfect for the traveler or a relaxing cup anytime. Now you can enjoy wonderful teas wherever you may go!
Our pyramid-shaped tea sachets are made with renewable, plant-based fibers. Non-GMO corn is pressed to create a lactic acid, which is then spun into polylactic acid threads. Woven, they form the pyramid sachet we use. The material is made from plants, not petroleum. This material is renewable and it is compostable in municipal composting facilities. (Note: home composts likely will not provide the needed environment - microorganisms, a temperature and humidity - for decomposition).
