An outstanding red tea, Golden Yunnan, is crafted using thick first grade leaves and golden buds. When steeped, leaves open to a fragrant, russet-amber liquor. A wonderful breakfast tea and a refreshing, thirst-quenching black tea to be enjoyed all hours of the day.

Lot Notes. Tea is certified organic. Lot was harvested in Spring 2022. We noted flavors of cocoa & spice and a very pleasing sweetness. First-grade leaves are thick and uniform providing a very smooth cup and multiple steeps.

Tea Facts. Made with the native large-leaf cultivar, Da Ye. Leaves are rolled prior to oxidization abrading them, beginning the process of building rich flavors. Tea is grown at an elevation of about 1200 meters near Zhengwan village.

Tasting Notes. Tea offers a range of flavors from cocoa to carmelized sugar and spice. Sweet notes of caramel and fruit come through in the 2nd steep. Finish is smooth, sweet and lingers.

Brewing Suggestions. Use one rounded teaspoon of leaf for 8 ounces of water at a temperature of 195-205 F. Steep for two minutes and taste. For more body, steep 3 minutes. Leaves are large and strong and will steep 3-4 times.
