An exceptional spring green, this high-mountain cultivar is harvested only for a brief period in early April. Heavenly Blue Peak (Tian Mu Qing Ding) was long a favored tea of emperors. It is grown in bamboo forest preserves of Tian Mu Mountains, in Zhejiang Province. Literally translated as "eye of heaven green peak", our high-grade Qing Ding lot offers the tea lover an opportunity to enjoy a wonderfully aromatic and flavorful tea. Harvest date is mid-April 2023. Lot #7.

Lot Notes. Our lot offers the 3 attributes we seek in this tea: a fresh organic green with an enticing leaf appearance; high aroma; and, steeped, captivating, enduring flavors.

Tea Facts. Grown organically in the Tain Mu Shan area. Farm elevation is approximately 1400 meters. Farm topography is steep & rugged mountains with groves of bamboo. Heavenly Blue is harvested a bit later than most high-grade green teas due to the farm's high elevation with the bushes being slow coming out of dormancy. Pluck standard is leaf and bud.

Tasting Notes. The taste is complex, layered with a wonderful natural sweetness. Flavor is grassy, fresh spring vegetables with a lingering finish of wild flower honey. Good tea with food and with your afternoon break.

Brewing Suggestions. Use 3 grams for 6-8 oz. of water and 4-5 grams with 12 ounces. Best prepared with water at 185-195 degrees F. and steep the leaves for approximately 2 minutes & taste. A short steep emphasizes the delicate layered notes of this cultivar. A longer infusion will produce more intensity, with a bit more pungency. Drain the water off the leaves for added steeps.
