Lightly oxidized oolong is a "select" lot made in the AnXi Region. This is a wonderful value, low-oxidized, green-style Oolong. It has a fine leaf appearance of deep greens with just a hint of brown coloration. Once steeped, its leaves release a wonderful floral aroma. Taste is rich and sweet with a lingering aftertaste. The cup infusion is light, green-yellow and clear. The tea's nuanced flavors are created in a multi-step, hours-long, process of semi-oxidizing the leaves. This tea is rich; it will satisfy and will provide multiple steeps to enjoy.
One of our highest grade Tieguanyin, it is single origin and handmade. Chinese lore tells us the women plucking these prized leaves would tuck the finest into their blouses to preserve them, thus the name. Well-crafted leaves will open slowly and show their characteristic large size. This tea is a rolled-leaf style and through multiple steeps will release a deep, multi-layered buttery taste with hints of orchid flowers. Cups to lovely, bright yellow-green liquor. Lot is a spring pick leaf.
Each year, we choose a lot of Tieguanyin from our source tea maker that we believe is the finest of that season's selections. We hope it will intoxicate the drinker with its sublime aroma and nuanced floral taste. A rich tea, it caresses the tongue with nectar. Fully opened, the rolled leaves are broad and long with serrated edges. The first steep is about aroma. The second steep, the leaves begin to give up their treasured tastes and will for a number of steeps. The taste lingers long after drinking. This is a high-grade oolong, much prized in China and we are proud to offer it to you.
Ever inventive, skilled grafting of a high-grade Tieguanyin varietal with the traditional early-spring Huang Jin Gui oolong created this delicious treat, Golden Jade. "Iron Goddess" is our traditional-style Chinese oolong. It is light-to-medium oxidized showing some brown coloration on the leaves. This medium-oxidized oolong was the preferred style in China's domestic tea market before the advent of low-oxidized, greener side oolong. This higher oxidized leaf process yields a full-bodied, sweet oolong with some nuttiness. The leaf is uniformly large, then rolled with stems intact. As the leaves unfurl slowly, the first steep is known for its aroma; subsequent steeps will provide increased taste.
One of the first oolongs harvested in early spring, this small-leaf varietal is known for its light-green appearance and light fresh, sweet taste. The leaf is comparatively small and light in coloration; hence it is often called Jade Oolong. This lot was made by a family of tea makers in the AnXi Region of Fujian Province. This oolong is "Se Zhong" style which is a blend of high-grade leaves offering a golden-green liquor color, with a lightly floral aroma and a delicate mouth taste. This tea goes very well with food.
Perhaps our sweetest tasting oolong! This lot was grown at the highest elevations of the Phoenix Mountains in the Feng Huang area of Guangdong Province. Once harvested, the leaves are withered then artistically shaped by a tea master we know well. The leaves are wood charcoal fired in wicker baskets to create a distinctive, red-green leaf with a fruity and roasted aroma. This small, terraced tea farm harvests from oolong trees that are, in cases, hundreds of years old. Its sweetness is enhanced by a light scent of Yu Lan flower; cup taste is nuanced with a long and pleasant aftertaste.
A competition-grade, single-origin Tieguanyin oolong made in AnXi by a tea maker well-known for the superb quality of his teas. Classed as a clear and fragrant Tieguanyin, the leaves were fired briefly at low-temperature to ensure a fresh, green-color leaf with a very evident floral aroma. As the rolled leaves steep, they unfurl slowly and release lush, honey-colored liquor and an orchid-like flavor that will delight the palate and linger for some time. Lightly oxidized, uniformly large, the leaves are light-to-dark green. This oolong is rich and is good for many infusions as the leaves release complex flavors.

Our private collection Phoenix Bird Oolongs, from the tea-famous Feng Huang area of Guangdong, are found in small lots, generally one to two kilograms per year and are not teas found in the market. These Dan Cong style oolongs are picked from trees in the mountains that are, in cases, 100 to 500 years old. The leaves are carefully processed by artisans (school teacher, tea farmers), who learned their trade from ancestors. Long, thin leaves, hand-worked multiple times, show hues of dark brown-green and red reflecting the bruising of the leaf to release vital juices that create the tastes for which these teas are world famous. Repeatedly fired over charcoal to capture and arrest these tastes, these oolongs can be toasty, sweet and tangy, fruity and honey-like and will certainly infuse numerous times, all the while releasing new tastes to the palate. No two lots are ever the same. These select lots are available in limited quantity.
Plum Blossom Fragrance is a favorite lot, very aromatic, naturally floral and very sweet.
