tea
This is just my favorite tea Dragon Well. I have it daily and silk roads tea is the best.
Dragon Well deservedly enjoys a long & rich history of cultivation and may well be the most famous tea in the world. Picked early in the spring harvest, its exquisite taste highlights why it is much sought after and recognized as one of China’s elite Tribute Teas. Dragon Well dates its place in tea history to the Qing Dynasty, first enjoyed by the emperors Qianlong and Kangxi. Today classed as the “national drink” of China, it is hugely popular in China’s domestic market, with highest grades fetching, at times, astronomical prices. Artisanally crafted in the traditional manner by firing in a wok, this lot is an excellent choice as an everyday tea, always an invigorating beverage and it goes well with food; or, serve it after a meal as a digestive.
Lot Notes. Our Dragon Well is sourced in Zhejiang Province. The cultivation of this local cultivar has developed a taste profile we find honors the finest traditions of this tea. The leaves are handcrafted in a wok to a traditional appearance & bringing forth the "4 uniques" of this famed tea - jade color, vegetative aroma, chestnut-like flavor and feather shape. Harvest date is April 2023.
Tea Facts. Grown organically, this lot was harvested in April 2023 in Zhejiang Province. Farm location is well outside the urban area and the effects of its factory belt. Leaves are small to medium in size. Note the light "fuzz" on the leaves and the unmistakably delicious aroma that supports its fresh taste. This green has been carefully processed preserving the best qualities of the cultivar.
Tasting Notes. Crisp flavor and a rich vegetal aroma. Lot is fresh and invigorating. Taste is sweet, nutty, offering chestnut-like notes. Cup liquor is green-yellow and clean. In the finish, you will find lingering with a sweet flavor.
Brewing Suggestions. We suggest using 3 grams of leaf (a tablespoon) for 8 ounces of water. Best if the water temperature is well below boiling at 185 – 195 F. Steep for 2 minutes and taste. All the taste notes should be open at this stage. For a stronger cup, steep 2.5 minutes and enjoy. Leaves provide multiple steeps.
