ROOIBOS
Amazing tea! Love it and recommend it for its taste and qualities!
Rooibos (Aspalathus linearis) looks and tastes much like a true tea. The cultivar was developed in South Africa and is known as "Red Bush". The leaves of this herbal offer a unique, rich flavor with clean notes of citrus and vanilla. Its leaves are oxidized creating its bright red coloration. A refreshing and relaxing tisane, and no caffeine!
Interesting facts about this tisane. Caffeine-free and rich in vitamin C, minerals and known for its very high antioxidant content (reputed to have a greater antioxidant value than green tea!) There is also a green Rooibos variety, not oxidized, offering more malty flavors.
Taste profile. Offers light notes of citrus and vanilla. It also has a taste similar to hibiscus flower and in a longer steep, an earthy flavor. It is noncaffeinated.
Steeping suggestions. Approximately one teaspoon or 3-4 grams per 8 ounces of water at boiling temperature. Steep for 3 minutes and taste. It can steep longer for more body and flavor and will not become astringent.
